The global number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) stands at 1,320, with the majority (1,297 cases) reported in China, including Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taipei.

There have been 23 confirmed cases outside of China in nine countries, with 21 cases having a travel history to Wuhan City, China, indicating human-to-human transmission within families.

Note: The World Health Organization (WHO) maintains its assessment of the event as having a very high risk in China, high at the regional level, and high at the global level, despite an error in previous situation reports regarding the global risk level.
